Verify your dependents to keep 2027 coverage

Keeping dependent information up to date helps ensure that Adobe benefit plans cover only eligible family members and helps manage plan costs for everyone.

During Open Enrollment this year, you must verify that any dependents you cover meet Adobe’s eligibility requirements. You will need to provide documentation of your dependents’ relationship to you in order to continue covering them for 2027.

What you need to do

When you enroll through the Adobe benefits enrollment site, follow the prompts to complete dependent verification. Be ready to upload documents based on who you cover.

Examples of documents you may need:

  • Spouse: Federal or state tax return or marriage certificate
  • Domestic partner: Domestic partner affidavit or proof of joint ownership
  • Child: Birth certificate, adoption certificate or placement agreement, or legal custody or guardianship document

For full details about the verification process, visit the Adobe dependent verification hub.

Take action by the November 15 deadline

3

You must complete dependent verification by November 15. You can do it during Open Enrollment from October 26 through November 6 or separately through the enrollment site after Open Enrollment ends until November 15.

  • If you don’t provide required documentation by the November 15 deadline, your dependents will be removed from Adobe coverage effective January 1, 2027.
  • Check your enrollment confirmation statement to make sure approved dependents are reflected correctly.
  • When you receive your first 2027 pay stub, check your deductions to ensure they match the amounts expected for you and your approved dependents.

Tip: Download the bswift app to make it easier to upload dependent verification documents during Open Enrollment (Google Play | App Store).

New: Higher limits and funding schedule for Health Savings Account (HSA)

New 2027 limits

In 2027, the maximum amount you can contribute to your HealthEquity HSA is increasing to $4,500 for individuals and $9,000 for families, per IRS guidelines. The catch-up contribution limit if you’re 55 or older remains $1,000.

Change in your HSA contribution timing

In 2027, your per-paycheck HSA contributions will be limited to the first 24 pay periods of the year.

If you contributed to the HSA in 2026, your per-pay-period election will roll over to 2027. Note that, because your contributions will be made over 24 pay periods—instead of 27 as in 2026—and the IRS maximum contribution amount is increasing, you should review and update your per-pay-period contribution election for 2027.

Lump-sum elections based on specific payroll dates will not roll over; you’ll need to enter those in the Adobe benefits enrollment site.

Change in how Adobe funds your HSA

If you’re eligible, Adobe’s contributions to your HSA will occur on a new schedule. Instead of contributing over 22 pay periods from January through October as in 2026, Adobe will contribute to your HSA in equal amounts over the first 24 pay periods of the year.

You’ll receive $35.42 each pay period, up to $850 for individual coverage, or $70.84 each pay period, up to $1,700 for family coverage.

To receive these contributions, you must:

  • Be HSA-eligible (check that you don’t have disqualifying coverage through your spouse).
  • Enroll in the Aetna HealthSave plan; the Aetna HealthSave Basic plan does not qualify for an Adobe contribution.
  • Activate your HSA, if this is your first time enrolling.

Important: Adobe contributions stop after the 24th pay period of the year. This applies to everyone, including employees who enroll or add dependents later in the year.

Use it or grow it

You can use your HSA at any time for qualified medical expenses, or you can use it as a way to save for your future. There’s no use-it-or-lose-it rule, so your account balance continues to grow tax-free from year to year. And you can invest your funds once you reach a balance of $1,000.

Your HSA is yours to keep

If you waive medical coverage or elect a medical plan that is not eligible for HSA contributions for 2027—such as the Aetna HealthSelect EPO or Kaiser HMO—you will still be able to use existing HSA funds for your medical, dental, and vision expenses, but you will no longer be able to make contributions to your HSA.

New: Enrollment required for Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

You will need to actively elect your Health Care FSA contribution amount for 2027.

Your current FSA election will no longer roll over year to year, so it’s important to review and select the contribution amount that will best fit your family’s needs over the coming year.

In 2027, the maximum amount you can contribute to your Health Care FSA is projected to be $3,500, pending confirmation by the IRS.

FSA changes due to a life event

If you experience a late-year qualifying life event and wish to update your FSA contribution, you must do so with pay periods remaining in the year. To be safe, submit your request by December 1.

FSA claim deadline

You have until March 31, 2027, to submit 2026 expenses to HealthEquity for reimbursement.

Use it or lose it

Remember to use the money in your FSA by the end of the calendar year, because you’ll forfeit what you don’t use.

You will need to actively elect your Dependent Care FSA amount for 2027 if you want to participate in the coming year.

Your Dependent Care FSA elections will no longer roll over from year to year, so review and select the contribution amount that will best fit your family’s needs over the coming year.

Confirm eligibility

Be sure to check that your dependents meet eligibility requirements. Dependent Care FSA funds may be used for both child and adult care for your eligible tax dependents. Your child must be under age 13 at the time of care for the expense to be reimbursable.

Contribution amounts

You can contribute up to $7,500 per household (or $3,750 if married and filing separately) pretax for eligible care expenses, like child day care, after-school programs, summer camps, and dependent adult care.

Adobe gift contribution

Adobe will contribute $1,200 to your Dependent Care FSA. If you would like to contribute your own funds to your account, factor in Adobe’s contribution. For example, to reach a total contribution of $7,500, enter $6,300 for your contribution amount, and Adobe will add the remaining $1,200.

If you wish to receive the Adobe contribution and not add any funds of your own, you must enroll in the Dependent Care FSA and enter $0 for your contribution amount.

If you currently participate in the Dependent Care FSA and no longer have a need for Adobe’s contribution in 2027, you should waive coverage.

New rules on FSA life event changes

In 2027, employees with Dependent Care FSAs will no longer be able to claim a change in day care cost as a life event eligible for midyear election changes. This life event was a temporary element of COVID-19 relief and is no longer allowed.

To update your 2026 FSA contribution, submit changes before December 1, 2026. Visit the Adobe benefits enrollment site, navigate to the Life Events tab, and select Change in Dependent Care FSA contribution due to change in cost.

In addition, if you use out-of-network providers, your costs are increasing for 2027 under the HealthSave and HealthSave Basic plans. Out-of-network benefits are reimbursed based on either the usual, customary, and reasonable (UCR) amount or a percentage of the Medicare fee schedule. For out-of-network services that are reimbursed based on the Medicare fee schedule, the plan will reduce reimbursement to 150% of the Medicare fee schedule amount, down from 200% in 2026.

To help avoid higher out-of-network costs, log in to the Aetna website (or SSO) to search for in-network doctors and facilities. In Utah, use the Aetna Extended Network.

Prescription drug coverage for Aetna plans

GLP-1 coverage

Coverage for GLP-1 medications is currently available to Aetna members with type 2 diabetes. Beginning January 1, 2027, coverage for GLP-1s will be added (with prior authorization from Aetna) for the following conditions:

  • MASH, a liver disease, with fibrosis
  • Secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease (MACE)
  • Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

For more information, review the GLP-1 summary [PDF]. If you believe you may qualify, talk with your provider and begin the prior authorization process on or after January 1, 2027.

For Kaiser and HMSA plan participants, GLP-1-related programs and policies will remain the same.

Lower costs for some specialty medications

Adobe is introducing the PrudentRx program for employees taking eligible specialty medications. PrudentRx helps lower the cost of certain specialty medications by using manufacturer coupon programs, which can eliminate your out-of-pocket costs after you meet your deductible.

There are two important things to keep in mind:

  • Starting in 2027, only the amount you personally pay out of pocket will count toward your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum; manufacturer coupon dollars will not.
  • If you opt out of the PrudentRx program, you’ll pay 30% of the total drug cost (once any applicable deductible is met) instead of your standard copay, and that full amount will count toward your out-of-pocket maximum.

Here’s what you’ll pay depending on whether you participate.

Enrolled in PrudentRx
Opt out of PrudentRx
Aetna HealthSave and HealthSave Basic
$0 once your deductible is met
30% of the total drug cost once your deductible is met
Aetna HealthSelect EPO

30% of the total drug cost; no deductible applies

If your medication is included in PrudentRx, PrudentRx will contact you directly about enrolling in the program. Learn more.

Higher costs for brand-name drugs when generics are available

In 2027, if you choose a brand-name drug when a generic equivalent is available, you will be charged the difference in price in addition to your copay. This difference in price does not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. Learn more.

New prior authorizations required

Starting in 2027, certain medications will require prior authorization or trying a lower-cost alternative before they’re covered.

  • Coverage for continuous glucose monitors will require prior authorization with a confirmed diagnosis of diabetes.
  • Before a new prescription for certain high-cost migraine medications is covered, you will be required to try a lower-cost option first. If you are already taking one of these affected medications in 2026, nothing will change for you.
  • Certain high-cost topical dermatology medications will require prior authorization when lower-cost topical alternatives are available.

New long-term disability plan options

You now have two options for long-term disability (LTD) coverage. Both plans provide a nontaxable benefit to you when you qualify. You can choose your plan during Open Enrollment:

    • LTD Plus plan aligns most closely with the LTD plan coverage you have now. It pays 66.67% of your salary up to an enhanced monthly maximum of $20,000. There is a new per-paycheck contribution for 2027.
    • LTD Basic plan pays 50% of your monthly salary up to $15,000 per month. There is no cost to you for this coverage.

If you don’t take action, you’ll be enrolled in the LTD Plus plan, which now requires a paycheck contribution. See your contribution amount on the benefits enrollment site.

    New identity theft protection plan

In response to your feedback, Adobe is introducing MetLife + Aura, a program that protects you and your family from identity theft, financial fraud, and cybercrime. It provides removal of personal information from data brokers and resolution support in case something goes wrong.

Choose from two options for this employee-paid benefit during Open Enrollment:

    • Individual coverage for yourself for $3.12 per pay period
    • Family coverage for you, minor dependents, and up to 10 additional adults for $6.85 per pay period. Family coverage includes Life360 Platinum, an app that extends family protection into the physical world.

While you currently have access to identity theft and credit monitoring services through My Secure Advantage (MSA) and the Reward Gateway discount platform, MetLife + Aura offers more comprehensive protection to keep you and your family secure.
